NDDC sets stage for Port Harcourt Tech Revolution

Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC)

The city of Port Harcourt is set to become the heartbeat of innovation and digital transformation in the Niger Delta as TechNexus Limited, in partnership with the Niger Delta Development Commission, has announced the Port Harcourt Tech Expo 2026 themed “Syntropy.”

The highly anticipated two-day technology conference and exhibition will hold on Thursday, June 11 and Friday, June 12, 2026, at the EUI Events Center.

Organisers say the annual expo is expected to attract entrepreneurs, investors, policymakers, technology professionals, startups and creatives from across the Niger Delta, other parts of Nigeria and the diaspora, in what is being described as a bold push to position the region as Nigeria’s next innovation powerhouse.

Managing Director of TechNexus Limited, Belema George, said the 2026 edition would feature keynote speeches, startup pitch competitions, panel discussions, product showcases and high-level networking opportunities designed to spark collaboration and investment.

According to him, the expo is strategically focused on promoting technology-driven economic growth in Rivers State and the wider South-South region.

George explained that the theme “Syntropy” reflects the idea of constructive synergy — the belief that stronger collaboration among innovators, institutions and investors can accelerate development across the Niger Delta.

He noted that the partnership with the NDDC aligns with the commission’s broader mandate of driving sustainable development through innovation, digital inclusion and strategic investment.

Beyond the NDDC, several private sector stakeholders, including financial institutions, energy companies and telecommunications firms operating in the region, have reportedly backed the initiative.

Describing the expo as more than just a conference, George said the event represents a movement aimed at reshaping perceptions about the Niger Delta and unlocking opportunities for young innovators.

“The Port Harcourt Tech Expo is our declaration that the Niger Delta is open for innovation. We are building a platform where the most brilliant minds in our region can meet the resources, mentorship and market access they need to thrive. SYNTROPY is not just an event, it is the beginning of a movement,” he said.

He added that the organisers are still engaging additional sponsors and partners committed to the digital and economic advancement of the Niger Delta region.
