Tinubu secures 206,520 votes in n Jigawa APC Presidential Primary

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu

President Bola Tinubu has emerged victorious in the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential primary election in Jigawa State after polling 206,520 votes in the exercise conducted across the state.

The outcome further strengthens Tinubu’s growing dominance within the ruling party ahead of the 2027 general election, as the president continues to record sweeping victories in several APC strongholds across the country.

The primary election witnessed a large turnout of party members across Jigawa’s local government areas, with APC officials describing the exercise as peaceful and orderly.

Supporters of the president said the result reflected widespread confidence in Tinubu’s leadership and the direction of his administration since assuming office in 2023.

Jigawa State Governor Umar Namadi, who participated in the exercise, had earlier reaffirmed his commitment to delivering massive electoral support for the president in 2027. The governor stated that the turnout recorded during the primary showed that Tinubu still enjoys strong grassroots backing in the state.

The Jigawa result comes amid a series of impressive performances by Tinubu in APC primaries conducted in states including Kano, Kebbi and Benue, reinforcing speculations that the president may face little resistance within the party ahead of the national convention.

Political analysts believe the continued wave of endorsements and primary victories could strengthen APC’s internal unity as opposition parties intensify consultations and coalition talks aimed at challenging the ruling party in the next presidential election.

With political activities already gathering momentum ahead of 2027, the latest outcome in Jigawa is expected to boost Tinubu’s re-election campaign strategy in the North-West, one of the country’s most influential voting blocs.
