The Sarkin Gobir and Madawaki of Ilorin Emirate, Alhaji Yakubu Garba Gobir, has congratulated Kwara State Governor, Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, on his installation as the new Sardauna of Ilorin.

Gobir, in a congratulatory message, described the title as a well-deserved honour and a recognition of AbdulRazaq’s contributions to Ilorin Emirate and its people.

He said the title Sardauna holds a significant place in the history and traditions of the Emirate, noting that it represents courage, leadership, loyalty, and dedicated service to the people.

According to him, the conferment of the title by the Emir of Ilorin, Alhaji (Dr.) Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari, CFR, was a recognition of the qualities and contributions of the new Sardauna.

Gobir said AbdulRazaq’s elevation should not be viewed merely as a traditional honour, but also as a call to greater responsibility and continued service to the emirate and the state.

“As a fellow title-holder in the Ilorin Emirate, I am particularly delighted to welcome you into this distinguished circle of traditional leadership,” he said.

He expressed confidence that AbdulRazaq would bring to the new position the leadership, dignity and commitment to public service that had characterised his career.

Gobir further stressed the need for men and women of character, wisdom and courage to contribute to the unity, progress and development of the Ilorin Emirate at a time when the people require responsible leadership.

He said he was convinced that the governor’s experience and leadership would enable him to make meaningful contributions to the continued development of the emirate.

“On behalf of my family and myself, I extend my heartfelt congratulations and offer prayers for a successful, impactful and enduring tenure,” Gobir added.

He prayed to Almighty Allah to grant AbdulRazaq wisdom, sound health and strength to discharge his responsibilities as Sardauna of Ilorin, while wishing him an enduring tenure that would bring honour to his family and the entire Ilorin Emirate.
