The Nigeria Football Federation has praised several Nigerian footballers who ended the European season with league and cup titles across different countries.
NFF President Ibrahim Gusau commended the players for their performances, saying their success at club level reflects their readiness for future international assignments with the Super Eagles and Super Falcons.
Among the standout performers was Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen, who played a key role in helping Galatasaray clinch the Turkish Super Lig title with a game to spare.
Defender Zaidu Sanusi also celebrated silverware after FC Porto won the Taça de Portugal, while Terem Moffi shared in the success after joining the Portuguese side on loan from French club Nice during the January transfer window.
Kelechi Iheanacho was another Nigerian star recognised by the federation following his contribution to Celtic’s domestic double-winning campaign in Scotland during his debut season at the club.
In the Czech Republic, defender Igoh Ogbu emerged league champion with Slavia Prague, while goalkeeper Francis Uzoho lifted the Cypriot First Division title with Omonia Nicosia.
Oluwasemilogo Ajayi also enjoyed a memorable season after helping Hull City secure promotion to the English Premier League through victory in the Championship play-off final.
On the women’s side, Super Falcons midfielder Christy Ucheibe won multiple domestic titles with Benfica, including the Portuguese women’s league cup, super cup and Taça de Portugal Feminina.
Defender Shukurat Oladipo also earned recognition in Italy after helping AS Roma win the Serie A Femminile title and emerging as the league’s best defender.
Forward Rinsola Babajide contributed to Roma’s title-winning campaign with two goals in nine league appearances following her move from Spanish side UD Tenerife.
Gusau congratulated the players and urged them to maintain their strong performances as they continue representing Nigeria on the international stage.
