Thousands of Lagos residents stormed the J-Randle Centre, Onikan, over the weekend as Lotus Bank hosted the 2026 edition of its Eid Souq, with subsidised ram sales, business activities, entertainment and family-focused experiences dominating conversations.
The two-day event, held between May 23 and 24, became a major attraction ahead of the Eid celebrations as attendees thronged the venue to take advantage of the discounts on livestock, shopping deals and networking opportunities provided by the bank.
The biggest attraction was the flash ram sales, where several lucky attendees purchased rams for as low as N20,000 — a development many described as unprecedented considering the current economic realities and soaring livestock prices nationwide.
Among the beneficiaries were Muhammad Salaudeen and Daud Abdulhameed, both of whom expressed surprise and appreciation to LOTUS for easing the financial burden on families during the festive season.
“Buying a ram for N20,000 in today’s economy is something many people would not imagine possible. This initiative by LOTUS is truly commendable,” Salaudeen stated.
Abdulhameed also praised the initiative, describing it as a practical intervention at a time when many households are struggling with rising costs.
“This goes beyond banking. Many families genuinely needed this kind of support and LOTUS made it happen,” he said.
Beyond the ram sales, the event featured a buzzing commercial marketplace with vendors displaying food items, fashion products, fragrances, accessories, household items and festive essentials, while children and families enjoyed dedicated recreational activities at the Kiddies Arena and Games Centre.
