As part of efforts to celebrate Africans who have distinguished themselves through mastery, resilience and continuous progress in their various fields, Premium whisky brand, Johnnie Walker, has launched the Blue Society platform in Nigeria.
Speaking at the well crafted unveiling event, Marketing Manager for Reserve Scotch, Southwest and Central Africa at Diageo, Joan Odafe- Ejumedia, said the initiative was designed as a cultural platform that recognises individuals whose achievements elevate African excellence.
According to her, the blue society serves as a gathering point for accomplished individuals who have built success stories through dedication and craftsmanship.
“We are introducing the Johnnie Walker Blue Society platform, which is a new cultural platform. We are celebrating a community of individuals who have mastered their crafts and whose work elevates African excellence,” she said.
Odafe-Ejumedia explained that the brand celebrates continuous progress and inspires consumers to pursue excellence in every phase of life.
She noted that the initiative aligns with the long-standing philosophy of the Johnnie Walker brand, which encourages people to remain progressive and resilient in the pursuit of success.
“At the end of the day, the core of Johnnie Walker as a brand is that it supports progressiveness. It tells consumers that they need to consistently live a progressive life and keep working in whatever phase they find themselves,” she added.
She further stated that the Blue Society platform aims to amplify stories of cultural relevance, aspiration and craftsmanship across the continent.
She disclosed that the initiative is already active in South Africa and is now being extended to Nigeria, with plans to expand into Ethiopia and other East African countries.
According to her, the broader vision is to build a pan-African platform that celebrates cultural progressives and Africans who have written their success stories through grit and resilience.
