DJ Neptune, flip Crown Ape in new summer anthem with BOJ

DJ Neptune

Highly celebrated Nigerian award-winning disc jockey, record producer, radio personality and music executive Imohiosen Patrick professionally known as DJ Neptune has joined forces with emerging Afro-fusion collective Crown Ape and alté star Bolaji Odojukan, better known by the stage name BOJ to deliver Who Dat Girl? II, a vibrant amapiano and afro-house remix designed for summer playlists and dance-floors.

The new release reimagines Crown Ape’s original track, Who Dat Girl?, transforming it from an Afro-fusion and rap-influenced record into a smoother, groove-driven anthem that celebrates rhythm, atmosphere, and late-night energy.

While the original version connected Lagos, London, and Frankfurt through a fusion of Afrobeats and European street-rap influences, Who Dat Girl? II takes a different direction. Anchored by BOJ’s signature laid-back vocals, the remix leans heavily into amapiano and afro-house elements, creating a more immersive and dance-ready experience.

Built on pulsating percussion, rich basslines, synth textures, and African-inspired rhythms, the track captures the excitement of attraction and connection while delivering a warm, uplifting sound perfect for clubs, beach parties, lounges, and festival stages.

DJ Neptune’s production breathes new life into the song, expanding its sonic landscape without losing the mystery and charm that made the original appealing. The result is a polished Afro-diasporic dance record that balances sensuality, energy, and feel-good vibes.

Speaking through the music, the collaboration showcases the strengths of all three acts: DJ Neptune’s proven ability to craft crowd-moving records, BOJ’s effortless melodic delivery, and Crown Ape’s innovative approach to cross-cultural Afrobeats.
