Former Anambra State Governor and Labour Party presidential candidate, Peter Obi, has paid glowing tribute to former Head of State, Abdulsalami Abubakar, on the occasion of his 84th birthday.

Obi joined other prominent Nigerians in celebrating the elder statesman during the public presentation of books chronicling his life, leadership, and contributions to Nigeria and the African continent.

In a goodwill message, Obi described Abdulsalami as a patriotic leader whose selfless actions at a crucial period in Nigeria’s history helped steer the country through a peaceful transition from military rule to democratic governance.
