Firm urges equipment access, business skills for creative industry’s growth

Rewind Associates Limited has emphasised that improving access to professional equipment and industry knowledge remains critical to the continued growth of Nigeria’s creative sector.

This was at the just concluded maiden edition of The Business of Cinematography and Content Creation Masterclass held in Lagos.

The three-days industry-focused training programme is designed to equip filmmakers, cinematographers, content creators, and creative entrepreneurs with both technical and business skills needed to thrive in today’s creative economy.

It aims to support emerging and established creatives through training, mentorship, networking opportunities, and equipment accessibility.

The masterclass featured sessions on camera systems, lenses, lighting, the business of cinematography, the business of mobile content creation, equipment management, storytelling, pricing strategies, client management, and building sustainable creative businesses.

Participants also gained valuable networking opportunities and practical insights from experienced industry professionals.

The company’s Co-Managing Director, Esther Okoeguale underscored the need to bridge the gap between creativity and business, noting that many talented creatives possess technical skills but often lack the business knowledge required to build profitable and sustainable careers.

The programme also reflects the broader mission of Rewind Associates Limited, a creative solutions company specializing in cinematography, film production support, and professional camera and film equipment rentals. Through its rental services, the company provides filmmakers, production companies, content creators, and media professionals with access to industry-standard cameras, lenses, lighting equipment, audio gear, and production accessories.

Following the success of the inaugural edition, the company announced plans to expand future editions of the masterclass, accommodate more participants, and collaborate with industry stakeholders, corporate organizations, and development partners to further strengthen capacity building within Nigeria’s creative ecosystem.

Rewind Associates expressed appreciation to all attendees, facilitators, partners, sponsors, and volunteers whose support contributed to the success of the programme and reaffirmed its commitment to developing the next generation of filmmakers, cinematographers, and content creators across Africa.
