N Effect, Balmoral target global championship for Nigerian boxers

N Effect Mode Limited and Balmoral Promotions have reaffirmed their commitments to support the growth of Nigerian boxing and create opportunities for local athletes to excel internationally.

The talent management firm and the sports promotion company committed during the formal presentation of the World Boxing Organisation (WBO) Africa championship belts to Nigerian boxers in Lagos.

Among the honourees was Godday “Zodsolo” Appah, who secured the WBO Africa Cruiserweight title following his victory over Ezra Arenyeka. Basit Adebayo was recognised as WBO Africa Lightweight Champion, while Taiwo Agbaje received his belt as WBO Africa Featherweight Champion.

The companies noted that the belt presentation reflects the rising profile of Nigerian boxing and the collective efforts of promoters, managers and other industry stakeholders working to create pathways for local talents to excel on the continental and global stage.

Speaking at the event, the founder of N Effect Mode Limited, Osa Bazuu, described the presentation as a significant milestone for the future of Nigerian boxing, adding that the achievements of the champions demonstrated the country’s growing capacity to produce athletes capable of competing and succeeding on the global stage.

According to him, the presentation was not only a recognition of the fighters’ accomplishments but also a reflection of the opportunities available to Nigerian athletes through strategic support and talent development.

“These champions have demonstrated tremendous dedication and determination, and we believe they are capable of achieving even greater success on the world stage,” Bazuu said.

Founder/Chief Executive Officer of Balmoral Group, Ezekiel Adamu, reaffirmed the organisation’s commitment to the growth of professional boxing in Nigeria as well as expanding opportunities for boxers.

Adamu said the emergence of African champions from Nigeria highlights the country’s vast sporting potential and the importance of sustained investment in athlete development.

He said the champions are celebrated for excellence, hard work and the growing strength of Nigerian boxing.

Adamu added that the organisation remains committed to creating platforms that enable Nigerian athletes to compete at the highest levels and bring international recognition to Nigeria and the continent.

Both organisations further expressed optimism that increased stakeholders’ participation and structured talent management would help revive Nigeria’s boxing fortunes and produce more world champions in the coming years.
