Zone 2, Lagos Police Command mourn DCP Salihu

The Assistant Inspector-General of Police, Zone 2, Olohundare Jimoh, the Nigeria Police Force, and the Lagos State Police Command are mourning the death of Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Khan Salihu, who died on Monday, June 25, 2026.

Until his death, Salihu served as Deputy Commissioner of Police in charge of Finance and Administration at the Lagos State Police Command.

Jimoh and the Command described the late senior officer as dedicated, disciplined, and highly committed, noting that he served the Nigeria Police Force with exceptional professionalism, loyalty, and integrity. They said that throughout his distinguished career, DCP Salihu exemplified diligence, exemplary leadership, and an unwavering commitment to duty.

His administrative acumen, wealth of experience, and contributions, they added, significantly enhanced the operational efficiency and management of the Lagos State Police Command.AIG Jimoh described him as an exceptionally dutiful and professional officer whose commitment to service and integrity earned him the respect of both superiors and subordinates. He said the late officer embodied the finest ideals of policing and remained steadfast in the discharge of his responsibilities throughout his career.

He noted with deep sadness that the news of Salihu’s death came as a rude shock, adding that the Nigeria Police Force had lost a dependable administrator, loyal colleague, and committed public servant whose contributions would be remembered. Also reacting, the Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Tijani Fatai, described the death as a profound shock and painful loss to the Command.

He extended heartfelt condolences to the family, friends, colleagues, and loved ones of the deceased, praying for strength and fortitude for them during this difficult time.

“DCP Khan Salihu will be fondly remembered for his dedication, humility, professionalism, and selfless service to the nation and the Nigeria Police Force. His legacy will continue to inspire officers and men of the Command. May his gentle soul rest in peace,” the CP said.
