The Federal Government has reaffirmed its commitment to digital platform to improve service delivery that would deploy the technology-driven solutions aimed at transforming land administration processes, enhancing transparency and ease of doing business in the housing sector.
The Centralised Land Repository and Management System is expected to mark a major milestone in the Ministry’s digital transformation drive and support government efforts towards improved governance, enhanced revenue mobilisation and sustainable urban development.
The Minister of Housing and Urban Development, Engr. Muttagha Rabe Darma made the assertion while inspecting the Centralised Land Repository and Management System in Abuja, explaining that it’s a digital platform developed in preparation for its official launch and commencement of operations.
Darma said the CLRMS platform, designed by Messrs Barnksforte Technologies Limited, is expected to streamline the process of land titling, accelerate issuance of Certificates of Occupancy (C of O), improve records management and boost government revenue generation through a more efficient and accountable system.
The Housing Minister emphasised that efficient land administration remains critical to unlocking the nation’s housing and economic potential, adding that the Federal Government is committed to embracing digital innovation that will deliver faster, more transparent and citizen-focused services.
“The introduction of the platform aligns with the Ministry’s broader reform agenda to eliminate bureaucratic bottlenecks, reduce processing timelines and strengthen confidence in government land administration systems.”
According to him, the developers and users of CLRMS has been designed to close existing loopholes in land processing procedures and ensure seamless handling of applications from submission to approval, while promoting accountability and improving user experience.
The Minister therefore expressed satisfaction with the level of work done on the platform and stressed the need to ensure operational readiness ahead of its launch and go-live date, so that Nigerians can begin to benefit from faster and more efficient land administration services.
