Beautiful quotes of a lifetime

On friends
Sir: From quiet homes and small beginnings, out to the undiscovered ends. There’s nothing worth the wear of winning but laughter and the love of friends.

The most moving sight there is, is to see men behaving in a brotherly way towards each other. There are rich slobs in the villages and cities who think they are the Lords of Creation and wouldn’t lift a finger to help a living soul.

A palm-thatch house is put up in two days when everyone helps. A roof can be put on a house in a couple of hours.

Everyone joins in to help a poor man sow his field, so that he shouldn’t get too tired and give up or even lose his life.

All these are done because of friendship.

A faithful friend is a sturdy shelter. He that has found one has found a treasure. There’s nothing so precious as a faithful friend, and no scales can measure his excellence.

An excerpt from Ancient Greece went thus:

“They told me, Meraclitus, they told me you were dead.

They brought me bitter news to hear and bitter tears to shed.

I wept as I remembered how often you and I had tired the Sun with talking and sent him down the sky.”

Or another quote from Kahlil Gibran:

“Your friend is your needs answered.

He is your field which you love and reap with thanksgiving.

And he is your board and your fireside.

For you come to him with your hunger and you seek him for peace.”

Godsent friends are like flowers blooming and blossoming graciously from the beginning to eternity.

We all need one like this to brighten our days and put lasting smiles on our faces like the rising Sun.
