Terrorists abduct OPC chief, two others on ransom trip in Kwara

Daring terrorists have abducted a chieftain of Odua Peoples Congress (OPC) in Oko-irese in Irepodun local government area of Kwara state.

The OPC chieftain, Comrade Bayo Fabiyi was on Monday abducted alongside two others while on a trip to pay ransom for the release of a detained abductee.

 

A source hinted that Fabiyi was also seized with a driver and one other person while attempting to pay a ransom of M30 Million, five motorcycles, and three bags of rice to enable the terrorists release the victim.

 

One of the aides of the OPC chieftain confided in disclosed to newsmen that: “unknown to the OPC chieftain and his team, the abducted victim, a relative of a high profile politician had been killed by the terrorists at the time they went to deliver the ransom and other items”.

 

According to findings, Fabiyi had earlier consulted another OPC woman for spiritual guidance in ilorin before embarking on the rescue mission.

 

“The OPC woman warned Comrade Fabiyi not to embark on the adventure because he saw him tied by the terrorists.

 

“I was surprised that our boss still went on that trip, we didn’t even know that he went until this abduction incident happened,” the aide said.

 

When contacted, the Commissioner of Police (CP) Ojo Adekimi said nobody informed the Police of any kidnap incident involving an OPC member.

 

“Nobody informed the police of any kidnap incident involving any OPC member,so we weren’t aware that anyone went to deliver ransom items to terrorists.” the police commissioner said.
