Chaka Technologies Ltd, Nigeria’s first SEC-licensed digital sub-broker, has launched Hisa, a new investment platform aimed at expanding retail participation in capital markets across Nigeria.
The company said Hisa replaces the Chaka trading application and introduces a range of new features designed to simplify investing for both new and existing users.
According to the company, the platform offers access to stocks listed on the Nigerian Exchange (NGX), and exchange-traded funds (ETFs).
Speaking on the launch, the company noted that the new platform reflects its commitment to making investing more accessible and inclusive across Africa.
“Hisa” is the Swahili word for shares and was chosen to reflect the platform’s pan-African outlook and growing presence beyond Nigeria.
The company explained that the app has been redesigned to improve the user experience, with features such as automated investing, after-hours trading, integrated market research tools, and faster trade execution.
Hisa also adopts a flat 1 per cent commission structure, which the company said is intended to improve pricing transparency for investors.
Operations in Nigeria continue to be powered by Chaka Technologies Ltd.
Existing Chaka users will automatically transition to the new platform without losing access to their portfolios, transaction records, or account credentials.
The launch comes amid growing efforts by financial technology companies to broaden participation in African capital markets and provide retail investors with easier access to wealth-building opportunities.
Industry analysts have increasingly identified digital investment platforms as important tools for improving financial inclusion and encouraging long-term savings and investment culture among younger populations across the continent.
With Hisa, the company says it hopes to remove some of the barriers that have historically discouraged first-time investors from participating in public markets.
Hisa is now available for download on the Google Play Store and Apple App Store. Existing Chaka users can simply update their app to access the new Hisa experience, while new users can sign up directly to begin investing.
