Schneider Electric, a global leader in energy management and automation, has highlighted the growing importance of rapid power deployment in meeting the rising demand for artificial intelligence (AI) infrastructure.
This is as the firm announced a strategic partnership with TeraWulf to address the industry’s most critical bottleneck: “time to power.”
The collaboration is aimed at establishing a strategic blueprint for pairing on-site power, AI-enabled automation, advanced liquid cooling, and digital intelligence at a legacy industrial site.
“We are delivering resilient, efficient, and scalable data center solutions at the speed and scale this AI era demands,” the firm announced in a statement issued recently.
Schneider noted that it completed the phased delivery of more than $290 million in artificial intelligence (AI) infrastructure solutions for TeraWulf’s Lake Mariner data center campus in New York.
The project, which includes technologies from Motivair by Schneider Electric, supports the rapid expansion of the Lake Mariner facility, projected to reach up to 750 megawatts (MW) of power capacity upon full buildout.
TeraWulf is leveraging the partnership to accelerate development and meet long-term demand from anchor tenants Core42 and Fluidstack, both backed by Google.
The Lake Mariner facility is strategically positioned to access low-cost, reliable energy from a regional grid with a high proportion of zero-carbon power, estimated at about 89 percent, alongside surplus capacity to support future expansion.
TeraWulf Chief Operating Officer Sean Farrell said the company’s strategy focuses on delivering scalable and energy-efficient infrastructure to meet the increasing intensity of AI and HPC workloads.
Schneider Electric’s Executive Vice President for Secure Power & Data Centers, Manish Kumar, said that “time to power” is fast becoming a defining factor in the global expansion of AI-driven infrastructure, as operators race to deploy data centers at unprecedented speed.
