The Lagos State Police Command has launched an investigation after a director of First Bank of Nigeria (FBN) reportedly received a parcel containing two live rounds of ammunition at his residence in Lagos.

Commissioner of Police, CP Tijani Fatai, disclosed the development on Tuesday during a briefing at the command headquarters in GRA, Ikeja, where he highlighted the command’s achievements over the past two weeks.
According to the police commissioner, the incident occurred on May 7, 2026, and was subsequently reported to the command.

“There is a case we are presently investigating. It occurred on May 7, 2026. A director of First Bank reported that a parcel collected on his behalf by his security guard was delivered to his residence. When the parcel was opened, it contained two live rounds of ammunition,” Fatai said.

He identified the ammunition as 7.62mm rounds, adding that the discovery immediately triggered a full-scale police investigation.

“The matter raised serious concern, and we immediately commenced investigations,” he added.

Fatai said no suspect had been arrested in connection with the incident but assured that detectives were pursuing all available leads to identify those responsible.

He urged members of the public to avoid speculation while investigations are ongoing, stressing that every claim and lead would be thoroughly examined before any conclusions are reached.

The commissioner also clarified that, at this stage of the investigation, no individual or organisation has been linked to the incident.

He assured that the investigation would be comprehensive and that anyone found responsible would be identified and prosecuted in accordance with the law.
