The Vice-Chancellor of Nile University of Nigeria, Professor Dilli Dogo, has assured the Nigerian business community that the newly unveiled Lagos Liaison Office of Nile Business School will deliver practical, results-driven executive education tailored to the needs of businesses, professionals, and aspiring entrepreneurs.
Speaking during the unveiling of the liaison office in Ikeja, Lagos, the Vice-Chancellor said the institution’s philosophy goes beyond making lofty promises, stressing that the university is committed to delivering measurable impact through its programmes.
“We don’t just talk the talk; we ensure we walk the talk,” he declared, expressing confidence that the liaison office would quickly establish itself as a focal point for executive learning and business transformation.
He challenged members of the business community to measure the institution by the value it delivers over the next 12 months, saying the university expects success stories from business leaders who enroll in its programmes.
“We want a situation whereby, in the next one year, when we return to celebrate our first anniversary, business leaders will be the ones coming to tell us how they have gained in just one year,” he said.
According to him, the Lagos Liaison Office has been established with a clear mission to provide customised learning experiences capable of addressing the unique challenges facing businesses operating in Nigeria’s commercial capital.
He noted that every programme offered through the liaison office would be designed to meet the specific needs of executives, organisations, and entrepreneurs seeking practical solutions to real business problems.
“Our job is customised to ensure that we make impact here in Lagos. We are serious about what we say we will do,” the Vice-Chancellor stated.
He described the Lagos Liaison Office as an open resource for individuals, corporate organisations, and prospective students interested in executive education, encouraging residents to take advantage of the facility.
“I want to assure you that the Nile Business School Lagos Liaison Office is for all of us. This is a place where you can invite your friends if you want to know more about Nile Business School. Here, you will receive all the information you need,” he said.
Beyond serving as an information resource, he explained that the liaison office gives prospective participants first-hand experience of the innovative learning model that distinguishes the institution.
The Vice Chancellor revealed that visitors would have the opportunity to experience business education through customised simulations designed to mirror real-life corporate decision-making and leadership challenges.
While describing the Lagos Liaison Office as an important milestone in the university’s expansion strategy, he emphasised that it represents only a glimpse of the extensive learning infrastructure available at the institution’s main Business School campus in Abuja.
“What we are showcasing here is just the tip of the iceberg. The Business School itself is in Abuja, where we have virtual audiences and simulations everywhere,” Professor Dogo said.
Professor Dogo explained that bringing some of the school’s cutting-edge simulation facilities to Lagos was a deliberate strategy aimed at allowing prospective learners to experience the institution’s innovative teaching methods before enrolling.
The Vice-Chancellor said the initiative reflects Nile University’s commitment to expanding access to world-class executive education and leadership development, while bringing globally relevant business training closer to Nigeria’s largest commercial centre.
The scholar expressed optimism that the Lagos Liaison Office would become a meeting point for business executives, entrepreneurs, and professionals seeking to sharpen their leadership skills, expand their networks, and acquire practical knowledge to drive organisational growth and competitiveness.
In his remarks, the Pro-Chancellor of Nile University of Nigeria, John Vermaaten, described the launch as the beginning of a long-term vision to expand the university’s reach and strengthen its impact across the country.
He said the initiative marks the first milestone in a sustained effort to position the institution as a leading centre for academic excellence, innovation, and industry-driven education.
Vermaaten stressed that the university remains committed to building strategic partnerships, enhancing the quality of teaching and research, and creating opportunities that will equip students with the knowledge and skills needed to thrive in an increasingly competitive global environment.
He noted that the institution’s growth strategy is anchored on continuous improvement, collaboration with key stakeholders, and a firm commitment to delivering world-class education.
Also speaking, the Dean of Nile Business School, Professor Noel Tagoe, said the institution adopts an innovative teaching model that seamlessly bridges academic theory with real-world business practice. He explained that the school’s approach enables students to apply classroom knowledge to practical business challenges while also drawing lessons from industry experiences to enrich academic learning.
Prof. Tagoe noted that the Business School leverages cutting-edge learning technologies, including business simulations and virtual reality, to create immersive and interactive learning experiences.
According to him, these tools expose students to realistic business scenarios, helping them develop critical thinking, strategic decision-making, leadership, and problem-solving skills in a controlled environment before encountering similar situations in the workplace.
“The takeaway is that we are here to make sure that we have leaders who can solve Nigeria’s problems from an African perspective using global best practice,” he said.
