God will deal with your enemies

Text: Psalm 37:5-6: “Commit thy way unto the Lord; trust also in him; and he shall bring it to pass. And he shall bring forth thy righteousness as the light, and thy judgment as the noonday,” (Psalm 37:5-6 KJV).

Life is full of battles. As long as we live in this world, we shall encounter opposition, persecution, hatred and various forms of enemies. Some enemies are visible, while others are unseen. There are people who oppose the progress of God’s children, and there are spiritual forces that fight against the fulfillment of God’s purpose in the lives of believers.

However, one comforting truth remains unchanged: God is able to deal with every enemy that rises against His children. Those who trust in Him, need not live in fear. For the Lord, Himself, is their defender.

David knew what it meant to be surrounded by enemies. King Saul sought to kill him, and many others conspired against him. Yet, David learned to place his confidence in God rather than in his own strength. He declared in Psalm 27:1: “The Lord is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? The Lord is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?” (KJV). David understood that victory belongs to the Lord and that God is more than sufficient to deal with every adversary.

Many times, when people rise against us, our natural inclination is to seek revenge. Human nature desires to retaliate and pay back evil for evil. But the word of God teaches otherwise. Romans 12:19 says: “Dearly beloved, avenge not yourselves, but rather give place unto wrath: for it is written, vengeance is mine; I will repay, saith the Lord,” (KJV). God has not assigned His children the responsibility of taking revenge. He has reserved that responsibility for Himself. When we leave our battles in His hands, He fights for us in ways that no human power can.

The children of Israel experienced the mighty hand of God against their enemies when Pharaoh pursued them to the Red Sea. They were trapped between the sea and the Egyptian army.

Humanly speaking, there was no escape. Fear gripped the people, but Moses encouraged them with these words in Exodus 14:13-14: “Fear ye not, stand still, and see the salvation of the Lord, which he will shew to you to day: for the Egyptians whom ye have seen to day, ye shall see them again no more for ever. The Lord shall fight for you, and ye shall hold your peace,” (KJV). God opened the Red Sea for His people and drowned their enemies. The same God who fought for Israel is still alive today. He has not changed, and His power has not diminished.

Sometimes the enemy may appear stronger than us, but no enemy is stronger than God. Goliath seemed invincible in the eyes of men, but David approached him in the name of the Lord. He said in 1 Samuel 17:45: “Thou comest to me with a sword, and with a spear, and with a shield: but I come to thee in the name of the Lord of hosts, the God of the armies of Israel, whom thou hast defied,” (KJV). Goliath fell, not because David possessed superior weapons, but because God fought for him. No matter how formidable your enemies may appear, God is able to bring them down.

Believers should remember that our greatest enemies are not flesh and blood. Ephesians 6:12 says: “For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places,” (KJV). Therefore, our confidence should not be in human wisdom or physical strength, but in the power of God. Through prayer, faith and obedience, we gain victory over the forces of darkness.

Another important truth is that God sometimes permits opposition in order to strengthen our faith and draw us closer to Him. Joseph suffered betrayal from his brothers, slavery and imprisonment; yet, God turned the evil plans of men into blessings. Joseph eventually testified in Genesis 50:20: “But as for you, ye thought evil against me; but God meant it unto good, to bring to pass, as it is this day, to save much people alive,” (KJV). What the enemy intended for destruction, God transformed into promotion and deliverance. He is still able to do the same today.

The believer must avoid hatred and bitterness. Although, God will deal with our enemies, He commands us to love and forgive. Jesus said in Matthew 5:44: “But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you,” (KJV). This command may not be easy, but it demonstrates the character of Christ. We can forgive because we trust God to execute perfect justice. God’s judgment is always righteous, whereas human revenge is often driven by anger and pride.

King Hezekiah faced a powerful enemy in Sennacherib, King of Assyria. Humanly speaking, Jerusalem had no hope. But Hezekiah turned to God in prayer, and God answered. In one night, the angel of the Lord destroyed the Assyrian army. 2Kings 19:35 says: “And it came to pass that night, that the angel of the Lord went out, and smote in the camp of the Assyrians an hundred fourscore and five thousand: and when they arose early in the morning, behold, they were all dead corpses,” (KJV). This account reminds us that one act of God can accomplish what human efforts cannot achieve in a lifetime.

Perhaps your enemies have mocked you, hindered your progress, spoken falsely against you, or tried to destroy your peace. Do not despair. The Lord sees everything. Nothing escapes His attention. Isaiah 54:17 gives this glorious promise: “No weapon that is formed against thee shall prosper; and every tongue that shall rise against thee in judgment thou shalt condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord, and their righteousness is of me, saith the Lord,” (KJV). Weapons may be formed, but they shall not prosper against those who belong to God.

Nevertheless, there is one enemy that every man must confront — the enemy of sin. Sin separates man from God and ultimately leads to eternal destruction. Satan is the enemy of souls, and his mission is to deceive and destroy. Jesus declared in John 10:10: “The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly,” (KJV). Through His death and resurrection, Jesus Christ conquered Satan and provided salvation for all who believe in Him.

Colossians 2:14-15 says concerning Christ: “Blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to his cross; And having spoiled principalities and powers, he made a shew of them openly, triumphing over them in it,” (KJV). At Calvary, the greatest victory was won. Through Christ, believers have authority over the powers of darkness and assurance of eternal life.

Therefore, whatever enemies may surround you, refuse to give in to fear. Trust in the Lord and commit your cause into His hands. Continue to walk in righteousness, pray without ceasing, and wait patiently for His intervention. Psalm 34:19 says: “Many are the afflictions of the righteous: but the Lord delivereth him out of them all,” (KJV).

God has never failed those who trust Him. He fought for Moses, David, Joseph, Hezekiah and countless others, and He will fight for you. Leave vengeance in His hands, maintain a forgiving spirit and remain steadfast in faith. In His own time and according to His perfect wisdom, God will deal with your enemies and bring you into victory.

May we all be able to say with confidence the words of Psalm 118:6: “The Lord is on my side; I will not fear: what can man do unto me?” (KJV). Amen!

Testimony Of the Lord’s doing

‘Chosen people are unstoppable’

My name is Brother Olumide and I thank God for making me a member of The Lord’s Chosen Charismatic Revival Ministries. Since I became a Chosen member, God has been helping us and has not put us to shame. Moreover, it is good to always obey the instruction of our G.O. He encouraged us to go to Abuja Crusade held on May 25 and 26, 2026.

On that fateful week, as we set out to go for the crusade, God was leading us as a shepherd would lead his sheep. Our vehicles consisted of long and small buses, and we were made up of evangelists, intercessors and other workers. As we cruise from state to state, people were hailing and cheering us along the way, from Lagos to Oyo to Osun, among other states. In fact, it was Holy Ghost journey because we were singing and praising our God. As we were doing that, there was joy and gladness everywhere.

Suddenly, we entered Edo State, getting to a place called Akongba, we saw that the road was barricaded. The Evangelists leader and I went down and pleaded with them to remove the barricade so that we could pass, but they said no that we had to go to the station to call the Commander-in-Charge of that unit. We did as instructed and tabled our request, but they said no, that it was the order from the top. The officers said, for them to remove the barricade, we have to call the governor of Edo State. We pleaded with them to allow our big buses to pass because we were on convoy, they insisted that we should go and pass another route.

As we left the station for the check point our buses were barricaded, lo and behold, we saw a team of Nigerian soldiers before we could reach there; they were many. They were in buses, jeeps and armoured vehicles, among others. They met the man supervising the barricade and told him to remove it, but he insisted, they forced him to frog jump and while doing that, the soldiers dismantled the barricades and ushered us through. Immediately, we zoomed off with our buses. Praise the Lord! God of Chosen rules in the kingdom of men and in heaven.
I pray that God that called our pastor will continue to be with him in all affairs of life in Jesus’ name… amen!
