2027: Nwebonyi, Ogah rally Ebonyi support for Tinubu

President Bola Tinubu

Deputy Chief Whip of the Senate and Senator representing Ebonyi North, Sen. Onyekachi Nwebonyi, and the member representing Ikwo/Ezza South Federal Constituency, Comrade Chinedu Ogah, have urged the people of Ebonyi State to continue supporting President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, saying such support would attract more federal development projects to the state.

The lawmakers made the appeal at separate events over the weekend while reaffirming their commitment to delivering quality infrastructure and sustainable development to their respective constituencies.
Senator Nwebonyi spoke during the flag-off of the first phase of the Amike Aba Town Hall Road project in Abakaliki, while Ogah made the call at Ohatekwe Amagu in Ikwo Local Government Area during the distribution of 5,000 bags of fertiliser, rice seedlings and N50 million in financial support to farmers and other stakeholders.

Speaking at the road project inauguration, Nwebonyi said the two-kilometre road, with the first phase covering one kilometre, was captured under the 2025 Constituency Intervention Programme.
He explained that the road would be constructed with concrete pavement to withstand the area’s soil condition and topography, ensuring durability and long-term service.

According to the senator, the project is part of his broader infrastructure development agenda for Ebonyi North.
He disclosed that within three years in office, he has facilitated the construction of more than 10 kilometres of concrete pavement roads, over 30 kilometres of earth roads, as well as several culverts and bridges across the senatorial district.

“We are going to construct a road that can last between 30 and 50 years. I assure everyone that the project is designed to stand the test of time. Our objective is to provide durable infrastructure that will serve the people for generations,” he said.
Nwebonyi attributed his achievements to the support and leadership of Ebonyi State Governor, Chief Francis Nwifuru, whom he credited with inspiring quality governance and infrastructural development in the state.

“I made a promise in 2023 to redefine representation in Ebonyi North, and I remain committed to fulfilling that promise through impactful projects,” he added.
The senator also appealed to the people of Ebonyi State and the South-East to support the re-election of President Tinubu in 2027, expressing confidence that continued support for the administration would attract more democratic dividends and federal projects to the region.

At the event in Ikwo Local Government Area, Ogah also credited Governor Nwifuru for creating an enabling environment for National Assembly members from the state to effectively represent their constituents.
He pledged continued support for the governor’s policies and programmes under the People’s Charter of Needs agenda.

The lawmaker also commended President Tinubu for supporting constituency projects through federal budgetary interventions, describing agricultural development as an economic lifeline capable of boosting commercial activities and improving residents’ standard of living.
Ogah assured the governor of overwhelming electoral support from the constituency for him and other All Progressives Congress (APC) candidates in the 2027 general election.

The event was attended by farmers’ associations, support groups, traditional leaders and other stakeholders, with beneficiaries receiving 5,000 bags of fertiliser, rice seedlings and N50 million in financial support facilitated by lawmakers
