Plateau community decries killing of leader

Plateau

The People of Kufang Barkin Ladi in Plateau State have lamented the killing of the community and political leader of Nagunda, Damajai Bulle, who was reportedly ambushed by assailants along the Barkin Ladi-Kufang Gana Ropp Road on Sunday evening.

Lamenting that this has become part of the nasty experiences the people of Barkin Ladi are passing through, their spokesperson, Stephen Choji Kim, said the incident has worsened the security situation in the community, adding that residents are hardly able to move freely in their ancestral homeland.

“Honestly, if drastic action is not taken by the government and the people to reverse this ugly trend, it will consume everyone without exception,” Kim stated. “No one should think that he or she is safe, as locals can no longer freely farm or conduct any business again in their ancestral homes and lands that the enemies have taken over.”

As at press time, spokesperson for the Plateau State Police Command, SP Alfred Alabo, had yet to respond to calls put across to his telephone.
