The Kwara State All Progressives Congress (APC) is set to set up a reconciliatory committee that would address the grievances of the aggrieved aspirants during the last May party primaries with the sole aim of bringing them back to its fold.

The party primaries, especially the choice of the governor, Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq’s preferred successor, Speaker Yakubu Salihu Danladi set the stage for the polarisation of the party that later.

Supporters of various aggrieved governorship aspirants engaged social media wars against the governor and Danladi-Salihu.

This, however, was laid to rest yesterday (Tuesday) when the party’s state chairman, Prince Sunday Fagbemi, on the alleged instruction of the APC national chairman, Prof Nentawe Yiwata Goshwe, confirmed and presented the governorship Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) form to Danladi-Salihu at the APC secretariat, Ilorin.

Fagbemi told party members that the party would set up a reconciatory committee that would ensure the return of aggrieved party members back into its fold.

According to him: “we are going to set up a very strong reconciliatory committee that would bring back others who had gone because of grievances, our APC is a very big family,” adding: “all our candidates must return.”

He had earlier explained that the situation in the party was threatening before the approval and announcement of Danladi.

He said: “before now, there was really nothing we could do. There were party primaries but the APC national headquarters said we should not announce winners, but now that they have gone through the process, they have given us leave to announce Danladi as our candidate.

“The APC Appeal committee had gone through the petitions filed by many Aspirants of various positions. They just released approved list to us.

“It is now our to give INEC Forms to our aspirants now as candidates to fill, and for us to upload and send back to the INEC,” he stated.

Appreciating the over 2,000 party loyalists, the Speaker, Rt. Honourable Danladi-Salihu assured them and the state of fair play and continuation of state development, and pleaded for cooperation of all as he confirmed that a reconciliatory committee would address the complaints of other aggrieved aspirants
