2027: Kalu Unites OUK Movement, Reality Organisation for Tinubu’s re-election

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu

Former Abia State Governor and Senator representing Abia North, Orji Uzor Kalu, has merged his two political structures—the OUK Movement and the Reality Organisation—with the All Progressives Congress (APC) as part of efforts to strengthen the party ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Kalu said the alliance was aimed at ensuring the re-election of and securing victory for APC candidates in Abia State, particularly those contesting National Assembly seats.

Speaking at the maiden meeting of the united political structure comprising the APC, OUK Movement and Reality Organisation at his Camp Neya country home in Igbere, Bende Local Government Area, Kalu stressed the need for party members to work collectively for the success of the APC in 2027.

The Reality Organisation was founded by his mother, Chief Eunice Uzor Kalu.

The senator, who is serving his second term representing Abia North and is the APC candidate for the same seat in the 2027 election, said the political structures he had built over the years remained formidable and capable of delivering electoral victories.

He described opposition parties as fragmented and incapable of posing a serious challenge.

Addressing the agitation for an Igbo presidency, Kalu argued that the South-East alone could not produce a president without support from other parts of the country.

“We cannot use only the South-East to challenge President Tinubu. We need the support of at least 24 states. Therefore, we need to support Tinubu so that he can, in turn, support our future presidential bid. I will campaign vigorously for President Tinubu’s re-election in 2027,” he said.

Kalu also emphasised the importance of electing APC lawmakers to the National Assembly, saying the president would require strong legislative backing to implement his programmes.

“I want to ensure that President Tinubu is not only re-elected but that all our National Assembly candidates also emerge victorious to provide the necessary legislative support for his administration,” he said.

He urged members of the three groups to mobilise support and campaign lawfully for the APC, insisting that his electoral victories had always been achieved through popular mandate rather than manipulation.

“I have never given anyone money to rig elections for me. All my election victories have been based on the mandate of the people,” Kalu stated.

Speaking on his political future, the former governor said he remained committed to public service but would return to his business interests whenever the people decided not to renew his mandate.

“My ambition is to rule the world economically and politically. If my mandate is not renewed, I will return to my businesses, which currently provide jobs for over 16,000 people. I am also building an industry and a university,” he added.

Kalu commended President Tinubu’s performance, saying the administration had recorded significant achievements in several sectors, while acknowledging that challenges remained.

He argued that Nigeria’s economic difficulties were part of broader global economic realities.

Leaders of the APC, OUK Movement and Reality Organisation described the merger as a major boost to the party’s preparations for the 2027 elections.

Among those who spoke were Dr. Mba Imo for the APC, Mr. Ojisi Iro Ogbaja for the OUK Movement, Barrister Peter Ndukwe and Mrs. Uche Abba for the Reality Organisation.

Other stakeholders, including Chief Mascot Uzor Kalu, Chief George Nnanna Kalu, Hon. Uche Ogboso, Mr. Chukwu Hanuel, Hon. Mba Ukaha and Chief Mrs. Jemima Ola Kalu, also pledged their support for the united structure.

Mascot Uzor Kalu, who recently withdrew from the APC governorship race, urged party members to put the outcome of the party’s primaries behind them and work together for the APC’s victory in the 2027 elections.

He said those who contribute to the party’s success would ultimately reap the rewards.
