The governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Osun State, Asiwaju Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji, has urged eligible voters in the state not to sell their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs), describing the cards as a powerful instrument for determining the state’s future ahead of the August 15, 2026 governorship election.
Oyebamiji appealed while addressing members of the Ansar-Ud-Deen Society of Nigeria (ADS), Osun State Chapter, during a special prayer session and meeting organised in his honour.
The APC candidate also called on religious leaders across the state to continue offering prayers for a peaceful, free and credible election, stressing that peaceful coexistence remained essential to the state’s progress.
“Our PVC is our power. Don’t sell it. Use it to vote APC and vote Oyebamiji. Insha-Allah, I will not disappoint you,” he said.
He pledged to run an inclusive, participatory and people-centred administration if elected governor, promising to prioritise security, workers’ welfare, education, healthcare, infrastructure, agriculture, commerce and industry.
Oyebamiji assured the gathering that his administration would also uphold transparency and accountability in governance while working to improve the welfare of civil servants and residents of the state.
He expressed appreciation to the leadership and members of the Ansar-Ud-Deen Society for their prayers and support, noting that he was born and raised within the society in Ikire and had remained committed to its growth over the years.
According to him, the moral values and principles that have guided his public life were shaped by his upbringing in the Islamic organisation.
Earlier, the Osun State Secretary of the Ansar-Ud-Deen Society of Nigeria, Alhaji Akande Ola Hafiz, described Oyebamiji as a bona fide member of the society whose public service record reflected integrity, humility and dedication.
He said the society recognised Oyebamiji’s contributions to its development and would continue to pray for his success in the forthcoming election.
While maintaining that the Ansar-Ud-Deen Society remained a non-partisan organisation, Hafiz said the society would not abandon members who sought to serve in leadership positions, adding that it was its duty to support them through prayers and moral encouragement.
Also speaking, the National President of the Ansar-Ud-Deen Society of Nigeria, Prince Musedik Kazeem Adeniji (SAN), who was represented by the National Vice President, Justice Moshood Adekunle Adeigbe (retd.), commended Oyebamiji’s longstanding support for the organisation and prayed for his success at the poll.
The event was attended by senior officials of the Ansar-Ud-Deen Society, members of the APC Governorship Campaign Council and other party leaders.
