NUPENG, oil firm partner to strengthen industrial harmony

The Nigeria Union of Petroleum and Natural Gas Workers (NUPENG) and MRS Oil Nigeria Plc have pledged to forge a working partnership to strengthen industrial harmony in the oil and gas sector.

This was part of the resolutions reached during the courtesy visit by the National President of NUPENG, Salimon Oladiti, to the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of MRS Oil Nigeria Plc, Sayyu Dantata, at the company’s corporate headquarters in Tin Can Island, Lagos.

The meeting centred on rebuilding trust between the union and MRS Oil, fostering industrial peace, strengthening labour-management relations and promoting collaboration among stakeholders in Nigeria’s downstream petroleum sector.
During the visit, Dantata congratulated the new NUPENG leadership and declared that past misunderstandings between the company and the union had been resolved.

He stressed the need for unity, integrity and quality leadership to drive sustainable growth in the petroleum industry.
In his response, Oladiti reaffirmed the union’s commitment to dialogue, mutual respect and constructive engagement, saying NUPENG was determined to build bridges rather than dwell on past disagreements.

He also commended Dantata for his contributions to Nigeria’s energy sector and pledged the union’s support for initiatives that would promote stability, productivity and national development.

The meeting ended with both parties expressing optimism about a new era of cooperation for the benefit of workers, operators and the country’s petroleum industry.
