Pregnant woman, two others missing as gunmen raid Kwara community

Residents of Abudu Community in Apado Ward, Ilorin East Local Government Area of Kwara State, are in distress after suspected bandits invaded the area and abducted three people, including a pregnant woman.

The late-night attack, which occurred on Tuesday, also left residents counting their losses as the assailants reportedly made away with about ₦4 million.

According to information gathered, the armed men stormed the community to rob residents before seizing the three victims and fleeing to an unknown location.

The Executive Chairman of Ilorin East Local Government Area, Hon. Lukman Olayinka, confirmed the incident and disclosed that security agencies had launched efforts to rescue the abducted victims.

Speaking in a video, Olayinka said preliminary intelligence indicated that the attackers’ primary mission was robbery, adding that they resorted to kidnapping after discovering a large sum of money during the operation.

He expressed confidence that the victims would be rescued, assuring residents that security operatives were actively tracking the suspects.

As of the time of filing this report, the whereabouts of the pregnant woman and the two other abducted residents remain unknown, while security agencies continue efforts to secure their release.
