Key verse: 2 Corinthians 6:1: “We then, as workers together with him, beseech you also that ye receive not the grace of God in vain,” (KJV).

Maximising God’s grace is demonstrating sacrificial service, faithful stewardship and unwavering commitment to the Kingdom of God. As believers, we are coworkers with God. God is working and at work and He wants us to work with Him.

God Has given believers the grace to work with Him. This grace of God should not be wasted because we do not receive it in vain. Grace is like a window of opportunity to serve God’s purpose and it should not be wasted. Paul instructed us to maximise this grace of God in the area of service and work unto God. Every believer has received a measure of God’s grace and it should be put into use for the kingdom service (Ephesians 4:7). It is the purpose of God to put into use whatever gift He has given to us. Dormant grace is a useless one. Grace should be put into work. God’s love motivates us to put His grace bestowed upon us into use for the service of God. In Matthew 25, a master gave to one of his servants five talents, to another servant two talents and to another one talent. The talents represent a measure of grace given to them to put into use. The servant that received five talents and the other that received two talents put them into use and were fruitful, but the servant that received one talent did not put it into use, rather he hid it. Gifts and talents not deployed for service will not profit the kingdom.

God is looking for valuable sons and daughters, whose lives will bring profit to His kingdom. Each of us has received grace, but the question is: What are we doing with that grace? Grace is never given for personal comfort or recognition alone. Rather, it is entrusted to believers so that, they can positively influence lives, strengthen the Church, and advance the kingdom of God. Grace should be put to work rather than wasted. Grace is like a Dunlop or synthetic rubber.

It increases when it is put into practice.Grace increases by usage and diminishes by not using it. God is looking for instruments to use. The servant who didn’t use his talent, it was collected from him, and given to another. When you put the grace of God to work, it multiplies more grace. God is looking for those who will intentionally honour Him through the grace He Has given to them. When we honour God with the grace He Has given you, God will in turn honour our lives. 1 Samuel 2:30, “But now the LORD saith, Be it far from me; for them that honour me I will honour, and they that despise me shall be lightly esteemed.”

When we put the grace we have received to work, it is evangelism on its own and the name of God is glorified. Grace is put to work when we help lift the burden off the shoulder of others. Let us allow God’s grace to find practical expressions through our lives. We maximise the grace of God by involving in kingdom advancement investments. Grace must produce kingdom results. While we may not possess equal resources or opportunities, every Christian has received a measure of grace to make a meaningful contribution to God’s work. We should not compare or compete with one another rather we should be faithful in using whatever measure of grace God Has given to us.
