Cleric prayed for me, confident of my victory, says Sowore

The General Overseer of The Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Enoch Adejare Adeboye, has urged leaders and Nigerians to live purposeful lives and render service that is acceptable before God and society.

Adeboye gave the charge yesterday, during the October 2026 thanksgiving service themed “Acceptable Service,” held at the RCCG Headquarters, The Throne of Grace, Ebute-Metta, Lagos.

He said Nigerians were created to serve, but stressed that the motive and quality of such service remained important.

Sanwo-Olu also expressed optimism that Nigeria would flourish despite its challenges, assuring that Lagos State would remain “the Centre of Excellence, aquatic splendour and a haven for every family.”

Sowore called for peace, progress and unity among Nigerians, irrespective of religious differences.

He said that Adeboye prayed for him and expressed confidence in his victory ahead of the 2027 presidential election.

Former Minister of Police Affairs, Musliu Obanikoro, urged Nigerians to focus their prayers on national greatness, stressing that a prosperous Nigeria would benefit all citizens.

He disclosed this after service alongside the National Chairman of the AAC, Samuel Ajeigbe.

According to him, he later had a private meeting with Adeboye, who offered to pray for him and told him that he had been following his activities.

Sowore said the cleric described his path as honourable and expressed confidence in his eventual triumph.
