The yearly Destiny Encounter programme of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Continental 3 (Southwest Nigeria and Middle East) has continued to transform lives, restored hope to the hopeless and provided platform for worshippers seeking divine intervention through sustained faith and prayers and faith.

The 21-day spiritual exercise held RCCG Continental 3, Headquarters, Gown Estate, Lagos, attracted ministers from different Christian backgrounds, is designed to create an atmosphere where participants can experience miracles, breakthroughs and renewed purpose.

Speaking on the significance of the programme, the Continental 3 Overseer, Pastor, Johnson Odesola, said:“Destiny Encounter was conceived to stir the faith in the believers and also to encourage them to trust God for seemingly impossible situations.”

According to him, faith requires the right atmosphere to flourish, stressing that the continuous prayers, teachings and ministrations during the programme are intended to move people from despair to hope and from stagnation to fulfillment.

Odesola explained that pastors, teachers, apostles and prophets are invited to minister throughout the programme, so that, participants can encounter God in diverse ways.

The cleric noted that over the years, the programme has produced remarkable testimonies, including reports of healings, breakthroughs and life-changing interventions that participants attribute to God’s power.

Recalling one of the most memorable testimonies, Odesola narrated how a man reportedly came back to life after a handkerchief that had been placed on the altar throughout the programme was laid on him following prayers.

According to him, worshippers usually bring handkerchiefs in faith, believing that God would honour their expectations during the 21-day prayer and fasting exercise.

The Continental 3 Overseer disclosed that in a particular incident, a pastor who responded to the situation picked one of the consecrated handkerchiefs from the altar after prayers appeared unsuccessful and laid it on the dead man.

Moments later, the man was said to have regained consciousness, a development that left many worshippers astonished.

Beyond testimonies, the cleric said the essence of “Destiny Encounter” is to encourage people facing difficult circumstances not to give up, adding that many participants make sacrifices to attend, despite their daily work schedules because of their expectation of divine intervention.
