Keystone Bank Limited has partnered with the Nigerian Association of Chambers of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture (NACCIMA) and the Small and Medium Enterprises Development Agency of Nigeria (SMEDAN) to organise a capacity-building programme for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs).

According to the bank, the initiative was designed to equip entrepreneurs with practical business management skills to improve operational efficiency, strengthen governance and support long-term business growth.

In a statement, Keystone Bank said the training covered key areas including credit and investment readiness, tax and regulatory compliance, and business scaling strategies.

The bank said participants received guidance on improving access to finance, strengthening internal business structures and positioning their enterprises for growth in an increasingly competitive business environment.

Group Head, Retail and Digital Banking at Keystone Bank, Olayemi Sule, said the programme reflects the bank’s commitment to supporting SMEs beyond the provision of finance.

She noted that while access to funding remains important, entrepreneurs also require practical knowledge in areas such as business management, regulatory compliance and investment readiness to build sustainable enterprises.

Sule added that the collaboration with NACCIMA and SMEDAN demonstrates the importance of partnerships in strengthening Nigeria’s SME ecosystem and promoting enterprise development.

Small and medium-sized enterprises account for a significant share of economic activity and employment in Nigeria, with stakeholders increasingly advocating stronger collaboration between financial institutions, government agencies and private sector organisations to improve access to finance, skills development and market opportunities for entrepreneurs.
