The Chief Medical Director of the Federal Teaching Hospital (FTH) Lokoja, Professor Abdulrahman Shehu, has said he will give priority attention to staff welfare and delivery of quality healthcare to Nigerians and non-Nigerians alike.

Prof Shehu also promised to transform facilities of the hospital into a center of excellence.

Professor Shehu made this known during an interaction with members of the Correspondents’ Chapel of the Nigeria Union of Journalists Kogi State Council in his office, where he outlined his administration’s commitment to repositioning the hospital through teamwork, professionalism and patient-centred services.

According to the CMD, “Members of staff remain the hospital’s greatest asset, stressing that creating a conducive working environment and boosting staff morale would be among his immediate priorities.

He said, “a motivated workforce is essential to delivering efficient, quality and comprehensive healthcare services to patients”.

The CMD assured workers that his management would introduce measures aimed at encouraging them to give their best, noting that regular engagement with staff would foster unity, improve productivity and strengthen the hospital’s operations.

As part of efforts to deepen interaction with employees, Professor Shehu disclosed that he had already commenced staff meetings and would make them a regular feature of his administration to ensure effective communication, identify challenges and collectively develop solutions.

Earlier, the Chairman of the Correspondent Chapel of Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) Kogi State Council Comrade Segun Ademola Salami lauded the effort of the CMD in his effort within the shortest time in office in transforming the teaching hospital.

He charged the CMD to carry all staff along in his daily activities to enable him achieve his laudable programs for the teaching hospital.
