…opens campaign office in Ibadan

The governorship candidate of the Allied Peoples’ Movement (APM) in Oyo State, Bimbo Adekanmbi, has intensified efforts to woo the Arewa community ahead of the 2027 general elections, with the commissioning of the party’s campaign office at the Adamasingba Shopping Complex, Sabo, Ibadan.

Adekanmbi, who was represented at the event by the Deputy Chief of Staff to the Oyo State Governor and APM chieftain, Hon. Kazeem Adeyinka, commended members of the Arewa community for their continued support for the administration of Governor Seyi Makinde.

He urged the community to reciprocate the support by voting for APM and its candidates in the forthcoming elections.

Speaking on behalf of the governorship candidate, Adeyinka said the unity among various groups within the Arewa community in the Sabo area had strengthened the party’s confidence in securing a strong electoral performance.

He urged members of the community to remain united and actively participate in the political process, assuring them that APM remained committed to inclusive governance and the interests of all residents.

Also speaking at the commissioning, the Chairman of Ibadan North Local Government, Hon. Seun Olufade, highlighted some of the projects executed by his administration for the benefit of the Arewa community and other residents of the council.

Olufade said the council had constructed the major road linking Jemibewon Road to Sabo, while several boreholes had also been provided to improve access to water.

He added that streetlights had been installed in parts of the area to improve security, curb night-time crime and facilitate movement at night.

According to him, the council had also recently provided a transformer to the Arewa community as part of efforts to improve electricity supply and enhance economic activities.

The council chairman pledged that his administration would continue to support communities across Ibadan North Local Government and ensure that the Arewa community benefited from government projects and interventions.

He subsequently urged residents to support APM candidates in the forthcoming elections, arguing that continued support for the party would enable it to sustain development initiatives and democratic dividends.

The commissioning was attended by political leaders and candidates, including the member representing Ibadan North Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Hon. Folajimi Oyekunle; the member representing Ibadan North Constituency I in the Oyo State House of Assembly, Hon. Olufunke Comforter; APM Governorship Campaign Director of the Women’s Wing, Hon. Ramata Agberemi Dabo; and Director of the Youth Wing of the APM Governorship Campaign, Hon. Kazeem Bolarinwa, among others.
