Nigeria’s Super Falcons have been knocked out of the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations after suffering a 1–0 quarter-final defeat to Cameroon on Sunday.
The defending champions were unable to find a way past the Indomitable Lionesses, bringing their WAFCON campaign to an end despite their impressive 6–2 victory over Egypt in their final group-stage match.
The defeat also means Nigeria have missed out on an automatic qualification ticket for the 2027 FIFA Women’s World Cup in Brazil, with the Super Falcons now needing to pursue another route to the global tournament.
