Again, a violent clash between two rival cult groups, Vikings and Black Axe, has erupted at the Ignatius Ajuru University of Education, Rivers State, leaving students in panic as sporadic gunshots were heard on the campus.

It was gathered that the shooting lasted for about 20 minutes without interruption, despite the police division reportedly being about five minutes’ drive from the university gate.

A viral video circulating online showed a group of persons fleeing the campus while another group chased them, as gunshots were heard during the clash.

While some eyewitnesses, including students, claimed that two persons were killed in the incident, others said there were no fatalities, but that some persons sustained gunshot injuries.

As of press time, the Rivers State Police Command had yet to confirm the incident.
