The National Assembly Legislative Aides Support Group (NALGA) of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has began a final grassroots push for the party’s governorship candidate in Osun State, Asiwaju Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji (AMBO), ahead of Saturday’s election.

The group, on Monday staged a solidarity “Walk to Victory” in Osogbo, the state capital, drawing supporters who marched through parts of the city in support of the party’s candidate.

The procession, which also featured members of the Association of National Assembly Legislative Aides (ANALAG) and other APC supporters, started from Olaiya Bridge towards the APC secretariat at Ogo-Oluwa before ending at the Ileri-Oluwa House along the Gbongan-Ibadan Expressway.

The APC House of Representatives aspirant for Ifelodun/Offa/Oyun Federal Constituency and Coordinator of the group, Ambassador Ayoola Fakunle, told newsmen that members came from Abuja to join their Osun counterparts in the final mobilisation for Oyebamiji.

He described the APC candidate as an experienced politician and public servant whose record, she said, had prepared him for the demands of governing the state, citing his service as a two-time commissioner in Osun and his tenure as forme Chairman of the National Inland Waterways Authority (NIWA).

“We are here to support our own, Asiwaju Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji, AMBO. He has been doing wonderfully well, and we believe supporting him will make Osun proud,” she said.

According to Fakunle, the group would continue its grassroots campaign through door-to-door and house-to-house mobilisation in communities across the state before election day.

“Our coming to Osun is to support and mobilise for victory. We are going door to door, house to house to support and mobilise for him because of the good work and track record he has built as a two-time commissioner and immediate past chairman of NIWA,” she said.

She argued that Oyebamiji’s experience in public service had given him an understanding of the challenges confronting the people of Osun and the knowledge required to direct government resources towards addressing them.

According to her, an AMBO administration would place emphasis on reducing unemployment, improving social amenities and tackling other challenges affecting residents.

Fakunle, however, urged APC supporters and other residents to avoid violence before, during and after the election, stressing that the ballot should determine the winner.

“APC is holding the treasure. We don’t need to fight anybody; we just have to go out and vote. I am advising everyone to come out and vote for AMBO because he is the only one that can do it better,” she said.

Also speaking, the APC Youth Leader in Olorunda Local Government Area, Comrade Mumeen Tiamiyu, popularly known as Omoluabi, said the walk was organised to show solidarity with the legislative aides’ support group and strengthen the party’s mobilisation at the grassroots.

Tiamiyu said the turnout of party members and supporters demonstrated their commitment to the APC candidate ahead of the election.

“We’re here in solidarity with the APC Legislative Aides Support Group in Osun State. This is a walk to victory for the success of AMBO, who is the flag bearer of the APC ahead of Saturday’s governorship election,” he said.

He said the group’s immediate priority was to canvass votes and ensure that the APC mandate was secured through the ballot.

Tiamiyu described Oyebamiji as a candidate capable of transforming the state and moving it towards what he described as a prosperous future.

“We know and believe in him. He is here to transform Osun into the prosperous future that we aspire to,” he said.
