2027: APC chieftain predicts victory for Tinubu

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu

A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Akwa Ibom State, Chief Etop Sunday Essien, has predicted victory for President Bola Tinubu and the party at all levels in the 2027 general elections.

Chief Essien, while expressing confidence in the party’s electoral prospects, attributed the expected victory to what he described as the growing acceptance of the Tinubu administration and the APC across the country.

According to him, the political equation ahead of the 2027 elections is increasingly favouring the ruling party, particularly as Nigerians begin to assess the policies and programmes of the administration.

“The President has taken difficult decisions because he wants to rebuild the Nigerian economy. By 2027, the benefits of these reforms will become much clearer, and Nigerians will remember the courage with which President Tinubu confronted the problems he inherited,” Essien said.

He argued that the reforms being implemented by the Tinubu administration, would ultimately strengthen the country’s economy and provide the basis for greater public confidence in the government.

“Tinubu will win in 2027 because Nigerians will see the difference between a government that is prepared to take difficult decisions and one that merely postpones the problems. The President has demonstrated the political will to confront the challenges facing the country,” he said.

Essien also pointed to the administration’s efforts in infrastructure development, economic reforms and social intervention programmes as factors that could influence voters ahead of the 2027 presidential election.

The APC chieftain maintained that the party’s growing organisational strength would give it an advantage in the elections, stressing that a united and properly coordinated political structure remained critical to electoral success.

He further expressed optimism about the APC’s prospects in Akwa Ibom State, saying the party was determined to consolidate its presence and translate its growing political strength into electoral victories across the state.

He commended the Senate President, Senator Godswill Akpabio, for what he described as his purposeful, focused and result-oriented leadership of the 10th National Assembly. He said Akpabio had demonstrated strong political maturity and a commitment to ensuring that the legislature remained responsive to the needs and aspirations of Nigerians.

He noted that under Akpabio’s leadership, the National Assembly had continued to play a significant role in supporting national development through legislative interventions, effective oversight and constructive engagement with the executive arm of government.

The APC chieftain also praised the Senate President for his efforts to promote unity and stability within the National Assembly, stressing that a cohesive legislature was essential to the successful implementation of policies and programmes aimed at improving the lives of Nigerians.
