Jigawa State Deputy Governor, Engineer Aminu Usman Gumel, has considered his re-nomination as running mate to Governor Umar Namadi in the 2027 Gubernatorial polls as a mark of honor and renewed call to service.

I consider this nomination not just as a great honor for me, but also as a renewed call to service to the government and the good People of Jigawa State.

Speaking at an interactive session with Members of the Jigawa State Correspondent Chapel in his office in Dutse said, “I remain profoundly grateful to His Excellency Governor Umar Namadi for this gesture done to me for the confidence and trust my boss continues to repose on me. I pray to Almighty Allah to guide and strengthen us to enable us to continue serving our people with sincerity, humility and dedication”.

Also, I sincerely appreciate you joining my family on the occasion of the wedding fatiha of my Son; stressing your presence, prayers, and Goodwill messages added great value in making the event colorful.

To members of the Correspondent Chapel of the NUJ, Engineer Gumel urged them to remain focused in the course of their assignments, uphold fairness, objectivity, and constructive reportage in serving our state diligently.

He commended members of the NUJ for their dedication and support at all times, assured of continued fruitful friendship as partners in progress.

Earlier, the Chairman, Comrade Zangina Muhammad, assured the Deputy Governor of the members’ oneness, support and cooperation in the overall development of Jigawa State correspondents.

The membership of the correspondents’ chapel is a congregation of Journalists from reputable national and international media organizations working ethically to promote the policies and programmes of the government as they impact the citizenry

Our work is not merely to regurgitate official government press releases, but to act as the primary translator of Jigawa‘s political, economic, and social reality for the national and global audience and tell compelling stories highlighting local culture, resilience, community challenges, among others.

We will remain committed to responsible journalism that aligns with the policies and programmes of the government, Comrade Muhammad stated.
