The National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) has announced final fare for the 2027 Hajj exercise, a slight reduction from the 2026 fare.

In the reviewed fare disclosed on Friday, the Commission disclosed that intending pilgrims from Maiduguri/Yola Zone will pay ₦7,560,822.00; their counterparts from Northern Zone (other Northern states) pays ₦7,672,822.00 while those embarking from Southern Zone pays ₦7,882,822.00.

The 2027 Hajj fare therefore consequently slide with little percentage when compare to 2026 exercise, where Maiduguri/Yola Zone Pilgrims’ paid N7,579,020.96; Northern Zone N7,696,769.76 and Southern Pilgrims’ paid N7,991,141.76.

According to the Commission, the new fare was considered with the principle of transparency, cost-efficiency, and the Federal Government’s commitment to the welfare of Nigerian pilgrims.

On the template used to arrived at the final fare, the Commission revealed the approval came after wide consultations with the leadership of the Forum of State Muslim Pilgrims’ Welfare Boards, key service providers in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, and careful consideration of prevailing exchange rates and service costs.

The Commission urged Intending pilgrims who has deposited ₦5,000,000.00 with the state and private tours to quick return of outstanding balance to complete their registration.

Besides, NAHCON also advised the new registrants who are yet to make deposits to proceed with payment through their respective State Muslim Pilgrims’ Welfare Boards, Agencies, or Commissions or through any approved Hajj Savings Scheme (HSS) participating bank.

The Commission added ” In strict compliance with the Saudi Ministry of Hajj and Umrah’s policy, NAHCON has fixed September 26, 2026, as the final and absolute deadline for the complete upload of intending pilgrims’ biometric data on the designated Nusuk-Masar digital platform, while remittance of all 2027 Hajj fares by states must be completed by 2nd December 2026.

“No extension will be granted beyond this deadline, as data synchronization and seat allocations depend entirely on timely remittances. The Commission wishes to emphasize that failure to meet the set deadlines will result in forfeiture of the allocated Hajj slots”. The Commission added.

Meanwhile, NAHCON has approved five designated airlines to convey Nigeria pilgrims’ for 2027 pilgrimage in Saudi Arabia.

The approved carriers are Air Peace Limited; Max Air Limited; Umza Aviation Services Limited; Flynas and Saudi Air.

According to NAHCON, the selection of the five carriers follows a rigorous screening and evaluation process conducted by the Aviation Screening Committee of the commission in accordance with regulatory safety, operational capacity, and financial guidelines.

“The engagement is subject to execution of airlift agreement with NAHCON and fulfillment of Nigeria’s Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) and Saudi General Authority on Civil Aviation (GACA) requirements for Hajj 2027.

“Passenger allocations and airlift schedules will be worked out with respective State Pilgrims’ Welfare Boards and operators accordingly. All carriers are expected to operate in line with Hajj 2027 regulations.

” The regulations include issuance of tickets linked to the pilgrims’ Nusuk-Masar data; strict observance of all safety standards; baggage allowance (A single 32kg bag and one 8kg hand luggage) as stipulated by regulatory authorities, among others”, the release read.

The Commission calls on all Stakeholders to cooperate with the approved carriers to ensure a seamless, safe, and comfortable airlift operation for all Nigerian pilgrims.

AsAhead of 2027 Hajj exercise, the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) has allocated 3,600 seats to Kano state for next pilgrimage in Saudi Arabia.

Besides, Kano State Pilgrims Welfare Board has fixed August 25, 2026 deadline for the submission of valid international passports for data capturing.

The Director-General of the Board, Alhaji Abubakar Ibrahim Matawalle, disclosed this and new Saudi Arabia time on Hajj 2027 at a press conference.

Matawalle explained that the revised deadline was necessary to enable the Board to complete the registration, enrolment, documentation and other preparations for the forthcoming pilgrimage within the stipulated timeframe.

According to him, the decision was particularly important in view of the anticipated closure of the Saudi Arabian Hajj registration server towards the end of August.

He warned that any registered intending pilgrim who failed to submit a valid international passport on or before August 25 might not be allocated a Hajj seat.

“Any registered intending pilgrim who fails to submit his or her valid international passport on or before 25 August 2026 may not be allocated a Hajj seat,” he said.

The Director-General stressed that the Board would not be responsible for any consequences arising from an intending pilgrim’s failure to comply with the directive within the stipulated period.

He therefore appealed to intending pilgrims, their families and relevant stakeholders to take the announcement seriously and ensure full compliance before the deadline.

Matawalle said timely submission of the required documents was critical to the successful completion of the Hajj registration and documentation process.

He also called on the media to give the announcement wide publicity to ensure that the information reached all registered intending pilgrims across the state, particularly those in rural communities.

The Director-General assured the people of Kano that the Board remained committed to providing necessary guidance and support to intending pilgrims and ensuring a well-organised, efficient and successful 2027 Hajj operation.
