A believable political campaign structure/outfit of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) called Village Boys Movement ( VBM ) at the weekend had it’s Abia state Chapter and it’s  Executives at state and 17 LGA levels inaugurated in  Umuahia, the Abia state capital.

Addressing the members at the Bishop Nwedo Pastoral Center venue, the State Chapter Leader Mrs Nkasiobi Madumere, a lawyer,  who is addressed by her  designation as ‘State Headmistress’ ( SH), vowed that members will work for the victory of the party in the state, urging them  to work towards securing the  legitimate votes that will be cast for the party in Abia state in the 2027 election including and especially,  the votes for the NDC  presidential candidate, Mr Peter Obi.

” Our resolve is to ensure free and fair elections, ensure that legitimate votes count and nobody rigs the election in Abia state”, she announced

She described VBM as a  good governance canvassing  group, stating that because   Abia state is an NDC stronghold,  it became the   first state VBM Chapter to be formally inaugurated in the country.

In a goodwill message the state NDC guber candidate for the 2027 election, Mr Ndubuisi Iro Etugo, tasked the VBM on carrying on their activities peacefully and in accordance with the extant laws and the electoral Act, stating that victory has been foreseen for the party’s presidential candidate Mr Peter Obi, including himself and other candidates across the country.

Chairman of the VBM Inauguration Committee, Chief Emenike Emerson Azubuike said that ” for decades now, elections have been reduced to tribe against tribe, religion against religion, money against poverty and noise against reason”, stating that the resultant effect is that Nigeria is trapped in cycle of disappointment.

According to Azubike, a Lawyer, it is in view of the foregoing that the VBM, which he  said is a great movement, was created by great Nigerians with sense of value to guide the selection of the most qualified Nigerian for the office of President starting from the 2027 general elections.

He said that in order to achieve this objective, the VBM embraced parameters that impacted choising   and endorsing of a meritable candidate as Mr Peter Obi and his running mate Senator Rabiu Kwankwaso.

He said ” The VBM realized that  a time like this demands strong minds, great hearts, truth faith and ready hands , those who the lust of office does not kill, spoils of life cannot buy, who have honour and will not lie, who can stand  before a demagogue and his treacherous flatteries without winking.

Asserting to the VBM members that the above qualities abound in Peter Obi, Azubuike stated  that Peter Obi’s purpose is clear, realistic with national vision

” His character is that of integrity, accountability and moral Courage. He is competent, as has been seen in his past activities, having shown ability to govern, and is not coming  to experiment”.

Azubuike declared that with  the Obi/Kwankwaso ticket, which he opined was divinely asembled, Nigeria would be emancipated from where it was thrown into , and true Nigerians  praying for our salvation.
