The Bundle of Hope Child Care & Empowerment Foundation has called on wealthy Nigerians and privileged citizens to show greater empathy, share their resources, and support orphans, special-needs children, and vulnerable groups.
It also urged well-to-do Nigerians to support non-governmental organisations, including charity centres, that are working to alleviate the suffering of vulnerable households amid the current economic challenges.
Team Lead of the Foundation, Olubode Oserinde, appealed during a media briefing in Lagos to unveil activities lined up for the Foundation’s 10th anniversary.
Oserinde, who described the Foundation, also known as Glowflux, as a community-driven charity that brings vulnerable children from the less privileged homes, correctional centres, and other charitable institutions together for a yearly social intervention event to promote compassion and empathy,
He said that Glowflux had struggled with funding over the past decade, noting that appeals made to many wealthy individuals for financial assistance often go unanswered.
He, therefore, enjoined them to use their wealth to benefit the needy, saying: “Those that are wealthy shut the door against us when we reach out to them. They start asking us how we got their contact and that they can’t just give up their money.
“But we see that even those who are not wealthy, those who are average and struggling, willingly open their doors without knowing us. They encourage us and give what they can.”
Oserinde said that in marking the 10th anniversary themed: “A Decade of Changing Lives: One story at a time,” scheduled to be held on December 28, 2026, 15 deserving homes had been selected as beneficiaries to participate in the homecoming edition, which will be held in Ikorodu.
According to him, it is homecoming because this event started here in Ikorodu and this edition will be held at the Ikorodu Town Hall.
He further stated that a novelty match will be played in October as part of the anniversary celebrations, among others.
