THE deputy governorship candidate of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in Benue State, Dr. Raymond Edoh, has congratulated Governor Ademola Adeleke on his victory in the Osun State governorship election, describing the outcome as a testament to the power of democracy and the people’s will.

In a statement issued on the heels of the election, Edoh commended the people of Osun for their peaceful participation in the electoral process, urging all stakeholders to support the elected government in the interest of the state.

He noted that the outcome further demonstrated the importance of credible, peaceful, and transparent elections in Nigeria.

The NDC candidate also expressed appreciation to President Bola Tinubu for providing the political environment and leadership that allowed the electorate to exercise their democratic rights freely.

“I sincerely congratulate Governor Ademola Adeleke on this well deserved victory. I also commend the people of Osun State for coming out peacefully to exercise their democratic rights,” Edoh stated.

He urged Adeleke to view his victory as a renewed mandate to serve all Osun residents, irrespective of political affiliation, by focusing on inclusive governance, youth empowerment, women’s participation, and economic development.

He adds, “I particularly appreciate His Excellency, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, for allowing a free, fair and peaceful electoral process in Osun State. This is a significant demonstration of confidence in our democratic institutions and the ability of Nigerians to determine who governs them through the ballot box.”

According to him, the president’s commitment to democratic principles is worthy of commendation, as democracy can only thrive when citizens are given the freedom to choose their leaders without undue interference.

Edoh further congratulated political parties, electoral officials, and security agencies for their contributions to the peaceful exercise.

He equally charged political actors to embrace sportsmanship and prioritise Nigeria’s unity and development above partisan interests.
