The Media Information Officer of the Joint Task Force, Operation Fansan Yamma, Lt. Col. Aliyu Danja, has disclosed on Thursday that many terrorists have been neutralise by the troops and several weapons and other things recovered.
According to the statement in Sokoto, troops on patrol in Isa Local Government Area encountered a terrorist ambush on Wednesday but responded and forced the attackers to flee.
The statement added that so many civilians were rescued during the operation with the bandits, and later reunited with their families, saying that two motorcycles abandoned by the fleeing terrorists were recovered.
According to the statement, in Kebbi State, troops acting on intelligence about three kidnapped victims conducted a search-and-rescue operation in Danko Wasagu Local Government Area on Tuesday, rescuing all three victims.
“The victims were profiled and handed over to the appropriate local authorities”, the statement added.
“Similarly , troops responding to reported terrorist activity in Tsafe Local Government Area of Zamfara State on Tuesday forced the attackers to flee, leading to the rescue of two captives”
“The two victims, who sustained gunshot wounds during their captivity, were evacuated to a medical facility for treatment”
“The Joint Task Force said efforts were ongoing to track and neutralise the fleeing terrorists”
“It urged residents to continue providing timely and credible information to security agencies to support ongoing operations and protect lives and property.”
