2027: AMG takes grassroots mobilisation to 18 Ondo LGAs

Asiwaju Mandate Group (AMG)

The Asiwaju Mandate Group (AMG) on Tuesday held simultaneous meetings across the 18 Local Government Areas of Ondo State, bringing together its members, APC leaders, stakeholders and other participants in what the group described as a major grassroots mobilisation and engagement exercise.

The meetings, held concurrently across the state, formed part of AMG’s ongoing efforts to strengthen its local government structures, deepen communication with the people and sustain grassroots engagement ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Speaking on the exercise, the Director-General of AMG, Asiwaju Olumuyiwa Asagunla, said continuous engagement was essential to maintaining a strong and effective grassroots organisation.

Asagunla said political mobilisation should not be an occasional exercise undertaken only during election periods, stressing the importance of regular interaction with members, stakeholders and communities.

“The simultaneous meetings were also intended to strengthen coordination across the 18 local governments, listen to issues from the grassroots and ensure that information about the policies and programmes of the President Bola Ahmed Tinubu administration continues to reach the people,” he said.

According to him, AMG’s mobilisation efforts are aimed at building an organisation that remains active at the grassroots and capable of engaging different segments of society, including youths, students and women.
Asagunla said the task ahead required AMG to intensify its mobilisation and engagement efforts as the 2027 election approaches, to secure the re-election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

He said the achievements and reforms of the administration made it necessary for the group to expand its grassroots outreach, communicate its message more effectively and mobilise greater support across the state for the President’s second-term bid on the platform of the APC.

He added that the strength of any political organisation ultimately depends on its ability to maintain a meaningful connection with the people at the ward and local government levels.

The meetings were attended by AMG members, APC stakeholders and leaders across the various local governments, including former members of the House of Representatives, former members of the State House of Assembly, former senators and former leaders of other political parties who had defected to the APC across the state.

Participants engaged in issues concerning the group’s activities, grassroots coordination and sustained public engagement.
