The attention of the Benue State Government has been drawn to the deliberate and wanton destruction of public utilities and billboards across the state by certain criminal and retrogressive elements bent on undermining the developmental strides of this administration.

In a statement, the Commissioner for Information and Orientation, Chief Solomon Iorpev, warned that anyone found culpable of these acts of vandalism, under whatever guise or pretext, will be dealt with decisively and will face the full weight of the law.

To this end, the government constituted a dedicated Task Force charged with the responsibility of monitoring, protecting, and securing all public utilities and billboards across the state. The Task Force has been mandated to work in close collaboration with security agencies to identify, apprehend, and ensure the prosecution of all persons found engaging in these criminal acts.

The Alia-led Administration reaffirms its unwavering commitment to the rule of law and to safeguarding public and private investments that continue to drive growth and development across the State.

The government assured all law-abiding citizens, investors, and stakeholders of its total support and readiness to protect their legitimate endeavors from the activities of miscreants.

“Accordingly, members of the public are urged to remain vigilant and to promptly report any suspicious activity around public installations to the appropriate security agencies or the Task Force.

“Let it be clearly understood that this Administration will not fold its arms while criminal elements destroy public assets and threaten the peace and progress of our State. The full machinery of government will be deployed to clamp down on such elements, and offenders will be brought to book without fear or favour,” Iorpev said.
