Tottenham Hotspur have completed the signing of Brazilian winger Savinho from Manchester City for an initial £75 million, taking the club’s spending under manager Roberto De Zerbi beyond £300 million this summer.

The 22-year-old joins Spurs after two seasons at Manchester City, where he struggled to secure a regular starting position despite making 84 appearances and scoring seven goals.

 

Tottenham are counting on the former Girona star to provide greater pace and creativity in attack as they look to rebuild following a difficult Premier League campaign that saw them narrowly avoid relegation.

 

Savinho becomes the latest major addition to De Zerbi’s squad, following the arrivals of Mateus Fernandes, Sandro Tonali and Jan Paul van Hecke. Marcos Senesi, Andy Robertson and Martin Dubravka have also joined the club on free transfers.

 

The Brazilian’s move to north London could eventually cost Tottenham more, with Manchester City reportedly entitled to a further £10 million in performance-related add-ons.

 

Savinho originally joined City from Troyes for £30 million in 2024 after attracting widespread attention during his loan spell with Girona.

 

His departure comes as City continue to reshape their squad, with Egyptian forward Omar Marmoush also expected to move to Tottenham before the transfer window closes next week.

 

The signing follows Tottenham’s disappointing start to the new Premier League season, with De Zerbi’s side losing 3-0 to Brentford on the opening weekend.

 

Spurs will now hope Savinho can quickly translate the form he showed in Spain to the Premier League and become a key figure in their attacking rebuild.
