The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), Ogun State Command, has intensified its crackdown on drug black spots across the state as part of Operation Restore Order, a nationwide campaign to dismantle locations identified as hubs for illicit drug activities.

The renewed operation, launched by the NDLEA chairman and Chief Executive Officer, Brig.-Gen. Mohammed Buba Marwa (rtd.), has led to targeted raids on several suspected drug black spots in Abeokuta, the state capital.

The command’s spokesperson, Assistant Superintendent of Narcotics (ASN) Haris Musa, disclosed this in a statement issued in Abeokuta yesterday.

According to him, the targeted locations include Mayas, Maiami in Panseke, Onion Market at Eleweran, MKO Stadium at Kuto and WAPCO at Lafenwa.

Musa said the coordinated operations were aimed at disrupting drug trafficking networks, curbing the abuse of illicit substances and reclaiming public spaces that had become gathering points for the distribution and consumption of drugs.

He said the command remained committed to its statutory responsibility of protecting residents and preventing illicit drug activities from taking root in communities across the state.

Musa also reaffirmed the command’s determination to sustain enforcement operations under Operation Restore Order, stressing that the initiative would continue until drug black spots were effectively dismantled and communities made safer.

The NDLEA urged residents and community stakeholders to support its efforts by providing relevant information that could assist in identifying locations and individuals involved in the illicit drug trade.
