The National Inland Waterways Authority (NIWA), the Lagos State Waterways Authority (LASWA) and Dangote Transport are set to examine the current state of Nigeria’s multimodal transportation logistics architecture and proffer solutions for efficient cargo and passenger movement at the 2026 Transportation Summit in Lagos.

The summit, organised by the Transportation Correspondents Association of Nigeria (TCAN), will bring together policymakers, regulators, industry leaders, transport operators, development partners, academics and other stakeholders.

Chairman, TCAN, Tola Adenubi, said the summit, scheduled to hold on September 24, 2026, in Lagos, will focus on strategies for improving the country’s logistics infrastructure, strengthening policy implementation, enhancing safety and innovation, and promoting sustainable development across the transportation sector.

He said with the theme, ‘Unlocking Nigeria’s Economic Growth through Transportation Logistics,’ the summit will also examine the current state of Nigeria’s transportation logistics architecture, covering waterways, roads, rail and aviation.

Adenubi said other areas of discussion will include investment opportunities across logistics and supply chains, digital transformation of the logistics value chain, infrastructure financing and public-private partnership opportunities.

He said the participation of NIWA, LASWA, SIFAX Logistics and Dangote Transport demonstrates government and private sector investors’ commitment to engaging industry stakeholders and advancing reforms in the transportation sector.
