Nigerian creative media organisation, Freeborn Media Group has expanded its storytelling and media footprint beyond Nigeria through a series of creative, media, and community engagements across the United Kingdom as part of its 2026 UK Tour.
The tour brings Freeborn into collaboration with creatives, celebrities, organisations, and communities across the UK.
Its expansion into the UK reflects the organisation’s growing interest in taking African creative expertise and storytelling to wider audiences while creating meaningful international relationships.
Highlights of the tour included Freeborn’s involvement in Dear Kaffy: Diary of a Single Woman, a production by BAP Productions staged at the Shaw Theatre in London from August 7 to 9, 2026. Freeborn contributed to the production’s media, content and visual storytelling efforts.
The organisation also served as a media partner for Africa Fashion Week London, documenting African fashion, creativity and culture while supporting the visibility of African creative expression in the UK.
Beyond entertainment and fashion, the tour also included engagements focused on community, education and capacity building. Freeborn facilitated media and production training sessions in Northampton and in Bradford, sharing practical knowledge and experience in production, storytelling, creativity and technical execution.
The organisation was also involved in the Onidiri Festival 2.0 in Barking, which celebrated African hair artistry, cultural identity and diaspora enterprise, and partnered with AfroFest Northampton, a festival celebrating African, Caribbean and Black culture and creativity through community, entertainment and storytelling.
Freeborn’s UK engagements also extended to broadcasting, with the organisation featured on BBC Radio Northampton alongside Banke Naya in connection with AfroFest Northampton.
Speaking on the sidelines of the tour, Founder, Freeborn Media Group, Victor Afolabi, said the tour was about building relationships, sharing knowledge and understanding how the expertise we have developed here can create value in different environments.
”It has also given us a broader perspective on the opportunities available to African creatives and storytellers,” he added.
The organisation said the UK Tour represents another stage in its growth as it continues to explore opportunities for international partnerships and collaborations.
Ending the tour, Freeborn Media Group extended its journey into Africa with a visit to Nairobi, Kenya, for the first time in October 2026, marking another significant step in the organisation’s growing international footprint and its commitment to connecting with creative communities beyond Nigeria.
”Today, the company operates across production, strategic communications, education and community development. For Freeborn, the expansion is rooted in a broader ambition to demonstrate that African creative expertise can compete, collaborate and create impact beyond geographical borders,” he said.
Founded in 2019, Freeborn Media Group began as a production company providing photography, videography, wedding shoots and other creative media services. The organisation has since evolved into a broader media group comprising Freeborn Studios, Freeborn Media Agency, Freeborn Media Academy and Freeborn Goes to School. The tour provides an opportunity for the firm to share its expertise in media production, storytelling, communications, and training while building relationships in the international creative space.
