The benefits of Adoration Cont’

“Wait on the Lord; be of good courage, and he shall strengthen your heart; wait, I say, on the Lord!” (Ps 27:14).

David knew from experience what it meant to wait for the Lord. He had been anointed king at age 16, but did not become king until he was 30. During the interim, King Saul out of jealousy chased him through the wilderness. David had to wait on God for the fulfillment of his promise to reign. After becoming king, his rebellious son, Absalom chased.
Waiting for God is not easy. Often, it seems that he is not answering our prayers or does not understand the urgency of our situation. That kind of thinking implies that God is not in control or fair to us. But God is worth waiting for. Lamentations 3:24-26 calls us to hope in and wait for the Lord because often God uses waiting to refresh, renew and teach us. Make good use of your waiting times by discovering what God may be trying to teach you in them.

Blessings To The Righteous (Psalm 37)
“Delight yourself also in the Lord, and He shall give you the desires of your heart,” (Ps 37:4).
“Delight yourself also in the Lord.” To delight yourself in the Lord is to desire and enjoy the nearness of His presence and the truth and righteousness of His Word (cf.Job 22:26; 27:10; Is 58:14). To those who delight themselves in the Lord, God gives the desires of their hearts.

1. God will answer the cry of our hearts if our desires are in accordance with His will (see John 15:7).

2. When we delight ourselves in God and His will, God Himself places desires within our hearts that He then sets out to fulfill (see Phil 2:13).

“Delight,” Vv. 4 and 11 use an intense word, Heb ‘anag, to speak of the exquisite delight we are to take in the Lord and in the great (abundance) peace (blessing, well-being) He gives. Vs.23 uses another word, hafets “delighteth” that expresses God’s genuine pleasure when we do what makes Him Happy (Ps 40:8; Jer 9:24)
“He shall bring forth your righteousness as the light, and your justice as the noonday,” (Ps 37:6).
“He shall bring forth your righteousness as the light.” The righteous who are oppressed by sin in the world are promised:

1. Answers to their prayers (vv. 4-5); (2) vindication of their righteous standards (v.6); (3) a heavenly inheritance (vv.9,11,34); (4) the Lord’s sustaining help (vv. 17-19,39); (5) the Lord’s guidance, protection and presence (vv. 23-25,28); and (6) salvation (v.39).

Conclusion
Ultimately the purpose of human existence is to live before this great and glorious God in adoration, love and praise and to find in Him alone our all in all.
