Leaders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Lagos State have called on party members and supporters in Eti-Osa Constituency I to mobilise voters and work collectively for the party’s candidates ahead of the forthcoming elections.

The call was made during an interfaith prayer and official flag-off campaign for the APC candidate for the Lagos State House of Assembly, Eti-Osa Constituency I, Saheed Adesegun Bankole (SAB).

The Deputy State Chairman of the APC in Lagos State, Moshood Mayegun, urged party members to intensify grassroots mobilisation and reach out to voters across the constituency.

Mayegun called on members to go from door to door to canvass support for the party, stressing the need for APC members to remain committed to the party’s candidates from the presidential level to the state House of Assembly.

He said the party expected its members to mobilise voters across the various levels of the election, urging them to make use of their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs).

The APC leader also appealed to members who were dissatisfied with the outcome of the party’s primary to put their differences aside and support the party’s candidates.

He said unity remained critical to the party’s campaign efforts in Eti-Osa, urging members to work together to achieve the party’s objectives.

Also speaking, the Vice Chairman of the APC Lagos Central Senatorial District, Muyideen Daramola, urged party members to ensure that their votes counted across all levels of the election.

Daramola said, “All the votes we will cast from the presidency to the state House of Assembly should be for the party’s candidates, while urging members to remain patient and committed to the party.

He appealed to those who were unhappy with the outcome of the primary to reconcile with the party and work for its success.

“We must come together and work together. APC must come together to win Eti-Osa,” he said.

Daramola also urged residents to use their PVCs, stressing that participation in the electoral process would be important to the party’s campaign.

He said the party had asked him to assure Bankole that its members were behind his candidacy and ready to support his campaign.

The National Hajj Commission of Nigeria Commissioner of Operations, Anofiu Olanrewaju Ellegushi, also urged party members to intensify their mobilisation efforts, saying what happened in the previous election should not be allowed to recur.

Elegushi called on APC members in Eti-Osa Local Government Area to go into the communities and work for the party, stressing the need for sustained grassroots engagement.

“The most important thing is what we are doing presently,” he said, urging members to remain focused on the campaign.

In his remarks, the APC candidate for Eti-Osa Constituency I, Bankole, urged APC supporters to come out en masse on election day and vote for the party’s candidates.

He said President Bola Ahmed Tinubu had met with the candidates in Lagos and promised a reward for any local government that emerged first in terms of votes.

Bankole therefore urged residents and party supporters to participate actively in the election, assuring his constituents that he would not disappoint them if elected.

“I will not disappoint my constituents,” he said.

The candidate also pledged to bring his understanding of the challenges confronting the constituency to the Lagos State House of Assembly, promising to perform his legislative oversight responsibilities diligently.

Bankole further appealed to APC members to avoid division, stressing the need for unity within the party as the campaign progresses.

He called on party members to unite behind the party’s campaign efforts in Eti-Osa.
